Nick Kemp

I have always had a love of music since an early age and used to bunk off school at the age of 14 to attend free Hyde Park concerts. It's only in later life that I began to write and record under the persona Nick Cody and to date through my first three ensembles, “The Small Change Diaries”, “Nick Cody & The Caravan of Dreams”, and more recently “Nick Cody and the Heartache.”

I have released found albums and one EP of original material to date. I have adopted what my producer calls “The Steely Dan model” for ensembles, where I have a tremendous pool of great musicians on hand who both play live and work on tracks. These include Michael Ross from Nashville, Laurent Zeller from France, as well as UK musicians, including Rich Ferdi, who has played percussion on all my material, and Fergus Quill, a bass played cited as one of the UK’s up-and-coming most promising jazz musicians and of course, Grace Fellows aka Towse who is from California.

I set up Green Eyed Records to promote "creativity through collaboration" and run live showcases annually for established and new artists.
